News Item: The Untimely Passing of Elder Travis Bastian

I was notified by Elder Darrin Butler of the following:
"I have been made aware that one of the Elders who served in this mission from '97-'99, Travis Bastian, was killed in a car accident on Saturday, July 22nd, while driving back from Lake Powell. I don't have any other information."
He went on to include a link to a story in Monday's online edition of The Salt Lake Tribune.

Elder Bastian had not posted a profile on the Web site.
When things like this happen, it is often easier to see tragedy at the loss of someone in their youth than it is to realize that we all play a part in the plan of our Heavenly Father. It is left to us who remain to fulfill our part in that plan so that we may stand with our departed bretheren at that last day.
