The First Presidency has called six new Missionary Training Center presidents and their wives, who will serve with them. They will begin service about Jan. 1, 2009.
Ralph W. and Elizabeth Smith
Ralph Warren Smith, 63, Provo Missionary Training Center; Mount Mahogany 1st Ward, Pleasant Grove Utah Mount Mahogany Stake; counselor in a district presidency at the Provo Missionary Training Center; former president of the Utah Provo Mission, stake president, temple ordinance worker, bishop and missionary in the New England States Mission. Retired assistant secretary, Department of Social and Health Services for the state of Washington. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ralph Warren and Ireta Payne Smith. Married Elizabeth Ann Rothey.
A part-time missionary at the Provo Missionary Training Center, Sister Smith served with her husband in the Utah Provo Mission and as a CES missionary in the Mexico Monterrey East Mission. She is a former ward Relief Society president and counselor, counselor in ward Primary and Young Women presidencies and temple ordinance worker. Born in McKeesport, Pa., to Allan Dean and Elizabeth Pollak Rothey.
