| Comments: Five years after coming home, I married Janet Bird from Rexburg, Idaho (well worth the wait while she went to Peru). Since then, we've been blessed with 6 children (ages as of Dec. 2002): Kristen (17), Angela (16), Brad (13), Jason (10), Justin (7) and Kimberly (4). After graduating from BYU, we lived in Palo Alto, California for 1 year, working for Lockheed Martin. Thereafter, job transfers took us to Britain for 10 years and Salt Lake for almost 5 (and counting). Though we had no plans to ever live in Utah again, it has allowed us to help parents with declining health challenges, something we wouldn't want to have missed for anything. Though I've never been back to Brazil, I cherish my time there and the companions I had: Craig Dunn, Ron Russell, Orlando Kelm, Roberto Alaniz, Joao Freitas, Luiz Rodrigues and Maurilio Mattana. They and many others had a lasting impact on my life. Obrigado a todos voces! Despite the passage of so much time, my Portuguese is still in surprisingly good shape. | |
