Hello, this is Matthew Tiemann.
I will enter the MTC on the 14th of August. However before I leave, I would like to find out a few things about the Californa Ventura Mission. Mostly questions about what I can bring.. hehe..
#1. Can I bring a Camelbak?
#2. Can I use a PDA (palm pilot, sony clie..etc.)
#3. Has anyone ever been mugged in the CVM?
#4. Can I use a backpack in the mission but not in the MTC?
#5. Can I bring a Sony Discman? with mo-tab, and seminary CD's?
#6. Do you have to wear a suit everyday? What are the regulations there? I sweat alot! I think I would die in a suit everyday.
#7. The List of things to buy includes a coat and a rain coat.. Does it rain often? Get cold? Will I need both of these? I can see a rain coat.. but a real coat?
Umm.. I think this is it.
Any information on any of these questions helps me out. Please add a message to the alumni website with your tips and any other suggestions. Thank you!

I believe that is how you spell his name. He served some time 85-86. I lost track of him years ago and wanted to find out how he was doing as well. Feel free to pass on my email addy to him, dearden6@charter.net. My maiden name was Gove.

I just had the pleasure of speaking to President Clarke! His final farewell talk is being given June 23rd at the Bakersfield Stake Centre in the evening. His home coming talk is for July 21st in the Highland 6th Ward in Pocatello Idaho. The church building address is 2000 S Fairway Pocatello, ID 83201. President and Sister Clarke look forward to seeing any return missionaries who are able to attend.
I have updated his President Profile on the alumni website to now include his home address and phone number. (You must be logged in to view their information) You will also be able to send President Clarke email by clicking on the Send Mail link. (His email address is not displayed to prevent spammers from getting his information) If you send him an email now, he will receive it later when he gets home.
President Clarke encourages all return missionaries from his era to stay in touch through the alumni site and to keep their profiles up to date so he knows how you are doing. He will be visiting the website just as soon as he is home and back on the internet.
Thanks

The California Ventura Mission History is now available online by clicking onMission History.
This is probably not by any means a complete history of the mission, but is meant to give an overall snap shot of how it all began in California and what it has grown to become today.
