Comments:
Deceased: 2008
I graduated BYU '66, worked for Eastman Kodak in NY, Hallmark Cards in MO, then got my MBA at Purdue and went to work for Weyerhaeuser in Seattle. Went with SAFECO in '72 and retired lin August, 2002. Got a consulting job here in Louisville, KY very quickly (so retirement was a blessing financially).
Moved to KY as VP of 2 small insurance companies on 6/1/03 after 33 years in the Seattle area, and enjoy the small companies and life in Kentucky. We have 6 kids - 13 g'kids. All 4 daughters are temple-married and 2 served missions. Son returned from Philippines mission in 10/04. I was released from the High Council on 12/14/04 due to Leukemia - my 4th HC experience. Blessed to have leukemia treatment work, so it is now in remission. Previously served as Stake Exec. Secy., and have been in
bishoprics, was Elders Quorum Pres., 70's Quorum Pres., in Stake Mission Presy., Stake YM Pres., High Priest group asst., Gospel Doctrine teacher and am now Priests Quorum Advisor.
Also serve as a temple ordinance worker at our temple here in Louisville. After nearly 4 years in Kentucky we have moved back to Washington, which is nearer to all our children and G'children, with half of them less than an hour away. We lived in the greater Seattle area for 33 years prior to moving to Kentucky and are really enjoying being back.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
