Comments:
I spent the last few months of my mission (extended) working as a labour missionary on the first chapel in Japan (Tokyo North). It was being built concurrently with Tokyo West. Clarence Katwijk was our building supervisor, and was there with his young family. I recently met with him and his entire family...they reside in Washington, just South of where my wife Terry and I live.
After my mission I returned to University in Lethbridge, Alberta, where I met my wife-to-be, Terry. We married in the Alberta Temple in 1966, have four children (3 boys and a girl, now all grown-up). I worked all my career in banking/ investments/insurance, until the summer of 2007, when I made a drastic switch in work. I began working for a company developing a Supportive Living complex for seniors in Langley, BC. I manage the Presentation Center, meeting with prospective owners/renters and their adult children......a most enjoyable job.
We still live in White Rock, BC, near the U.S. border, and invite any or all to drop us an E-Mail, call or visit.
Mochiron ii desu!
I just want to add that as of this time, April 2015, I am still working…even obtained my realtor license last September to keep busy. Healthy, happy, spending lots of time with grandkids (and my lovely wife, of course)!
Studying Spanish, too, as I’m planning on visiting our eldest son who lives in Ecuador with his wife and son. Watakushi no oku no Nihongo ga wasurete shimaimashita ga, mainichi ni “Espanol” wo benkyo shite imasu!
I have sent an email to Elder Pope asking how I get into the website to communicate with other alumni, as well.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
