Dear Friends,
Reggie Brew, Ryan's father, telephoned this morning advising that Ryan had passed away peacefully at home shortly after midnight. He, in the words of his father and like the Apostle Paul, fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. (2 Tim. 4:7) We will miss our good friend, fellow servant and colleague.
Funeral services are pending, but it is believed that the following will occur: viewing for family and friends Tuesday evening, July 4, at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary in Wilmington, North Carolina; Funeral services Wednesday, July 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel in Leland, North Carolina, with a viewing prior to the services. Any unexpected change will be communicated to you on Monday the 3rd.
Those who desire to communicate with the family may do so at the following email address: macoeast@bellsouth.net. In the meantime, I suggest that we unite in prayer on their behalf.
Love & best wishes, President Orton

Dear Friends,
My wife and I just returned from a three day visit with Ryan and his family and wanted to send a quick note out to all.
Ryan had a good few days and he insisted on taking Kristen and I out to dinner as a wedding gift. His mother wasn't to pleased and called to check on us about two hours later, but we did everything he wanted to do. The family is all home for Ryan and will be as long as he needs them which is a great blessing for them all.
On Ryans behalf, I want to thank you all for your warm letters of love and encouragement. We read them all and put them up around his room and he cherishes each one of them. Thankyou. He sends his love and thoughts to each and everyone of you.
If you have a chance, he would love to hear from you.
With love,
The Barkers

Dear Friends,
Many of you know Ryan Brew who served as a full-time missionary in the Romania Bucharest Mission from March, 1997, to December 30, 1999. He served in Oradea, Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest, Sector 2, Bucharest, Sector 5, and Timisoara. At the time of his return home, he anticipated playing baseball, under scholarship, for a major university in North Carolina. He was a great leader and missionary in general.
Approximately four years ago, Ryan contracted Leukemia. He has undergone two bone marrow transplants, chemotherapy and radiation treatment and spent many months in the hospital at Duke University and under the care of physicians.
Ryan had been doing reasonably well until today when he was advised that his white blood cell count had elevated to an alarming degree and that the Leukemia had returned with a vengeance. He was told that nothing more can reasonably be done for him and that his life expectancy is limited to days, weeks or months.
Needless to say, Ryan and his family were devastated by the bad news. Please remember Ryan and his family in your prayers. A note of love and encouragement would also be appreciated. He is at home now. The home address is: 3586 Maco Road, Leland, North Carolina 28451. His phone number is 910-655-2724.
Ryan asked that I express his love and respect for the many wonderful missionaries, members and friends with whom he served during his mission and for their expressions of love and support during these trying times in his life.
Sincerely,
Robert F. Orton
Mission President

Does anyone have Geta Nuta's address? She was in Bucuresti in Sector 6. I'm also looking for the Cirnu family in Cluj. Thanks

Does anybody have up-to-date contact information for Familia Banu (sector 2, I think) in Bucuresti? The dad was a Branch president; sons Dan (misionary) and Ionut (not a member). I'm trying to contact them and my contact info is outdated.
Thanks,
