I put a message here a few months ago asking if anyone had contact w/ Hawkins and received his email at Stanford. I spoke with one of his fellow Stanford alum yesterday who said he is now at the UofU and recently engaged. Please let me know if any of you have his new contact info, email or phone#. Thanks. Hope everyone is well.

Since I have been traveling to the Philippines quite often now, I have found the cheapest tickets to get is directly from the airlines. I have gotten tickets from China Airlines and Philippine Airlines about $50-120 less than any travel agency I know of. Those two airlines typically have the cheaper deals. My latest purchase for a September flight was about $860 with Philippine Airlines.

Hey guys, sorry I couldn't make it to the reunion. I'm living in Hawaii now, so until there's a reunion here I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to one. I see Lyte Gaviola at school, and Paul Dulan sometimes, so it's like a mini reunion here. If anyone is going to hawaii anytime, let me know and we can do something sometime. Catch ya later!

whats up everybody who remembers me. I wish i could have made it to the reunion but I had to work that night. That video of the mission and the new buildings was cool, It's good to see the church being built up so fast. My wife and I are thinking about taking a trip to the Philippines this fall, does anyone know of a good place, or travel agency to get cheap tickets? If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Not much is going on with me, my wife and I have been married about one year, no kids yet. I hope everyone is doing good.

Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've been on here, and apparently I've missed out. I totally missed that reunion business, oh well, that's okay, the only person that probably wanted to see me was Hiatt. I miss you Steve. Remember that night walking through the pig farm? Oh S@##!!!! That was great. Anyway, I'm still living in Logan, working, my daughter is now 9 and a half months old and running everywhere. Good times. Hey, I wanted you all to know, I have a buddy that served in Cebu, and him and his friends started a non-profit organization called "Vaccinations for the Philippines" They are getting donations to go back there and give little kids vacs that can't afford it. Pretty much none of them can afford it. Anyway, $2 gets you a pretty little wristband and all the money goes to the kids. You can get them at Boondocks if you can make it there in Salt Lake. Their webpage is www.vaccinesforthephilippines.org check it out. Anyway, what's up to all my peeps out there, and if anyone knows any good Philippino stores in the Salt Lake area, let me know. I need some hot and spicy tuna. Much Love. J

hello,
I just want to ask if anyone of you knows Sister Christine Ilagan... she's serving in Philippines Ilagan Mission -- she's one of my best friends here in our stake -- a month ago she sent me a letter and then she mentioned that she'll be coming home around July, August or Sep. I'm not really sure if her call was extended -- it seemed that she's not yet sure either. I'm just concerned -- I wrote her back but she hasn't replied yet. If there are new RMs here -- and if you have any info. i'll really appreciate it.
Thanks !

Hey All,
President Gaviola brought a lot of picures and video over from the mission. We made it into a video and showed it at the reunion. I have put it into Windows Media Format, and it, as well as the pictures from the reunion can be viewed on the following link. The Video is about 40MB, so if you dont have fast internet, it may take a while...

It was fun. Hope to see you all again next year!

I just wanted to thank everyone that came out to the Reunion. We had a lot of fun catching up on old times and new. I believe Steve said he would post a download on this site or a link to go and download the video.
For the new missionaries going out. Don't get too worked up and worried about the language. In the 7th article of faith don't we state that "We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth." Pray for these gifts as a missionary and the Lord will grant them to you. You will be surprised how fast you will be able to converse and think in Tagalog.
Good luck, you have been called to a great mission.

Marci and I had a great time at the reunion as well as everyone else. I'm happy everyone is doing well. I can't believe so many people have kids. It was fun to see them all. Does anyone remember where Hiatt said the video was going to be posted? I would love to download it but I don't remember if it will be on this website or somewhere else. Please let me know.

The reunion was wonderful. It was great to see the new chapels throughout the mission. As far as advice, don't let what your friend told you about Tagalog intimidate you. You will learn it and well if you want to and ask the Lord to help you. Feel free to email me with any specific questions you may have at jaspowell9@aol.com. Hope to see the rest of you soon. Maybe in the Phils. Mahal.

Whats up guys? I was just called to the Philippines Ilagan Mission and wanted to see if y'all have any advice for me. I report the mission training center on June 1st and am way stoked. I have a friend that served in Quezon City and he says Tagalog is the hardest two month language out there. Just thought i would drop a note...Peace

I am looking forward to seeing all of you this Friday in Kayesville. I hope there are many of us there. It will be the first reunion I will make it to. I have room for one or two people and I live in Sandy if you live in the SLC area and want to roll with me and my son Jacob (my wife has to work). Send me an email via the website and I will get back to you.

I remember one of the Elders in my time said that President Gaviola will one day seat at the quorom of the Seventy. I think that is going to be so true in the future! I was at a Missionary Fireside in Buendia chapel, Makati and he was there. I was delighted to see him again! And i soon realized that there was a difference with how his name was mentioned and got curiois of the difference. He was an Area Authority Seventy now assigned in the Philippines alongside with Elder Gabrito and Amistad! It was amazing and i do hope i would be able to be at the reunion there in America. I wasn't able to attend the last reunion here in the Philippines so i kinda missed everybody. Well, have fun and good luck!
